Cryptocurrency Weekly Report - Trump Wins, Cryptocurrency Celebrates

Last Week’s Review

Last Week’s Recap

Last week, the results of the U.S. presidential election were announced, with Trump successfully elected as President. Previously, Trump has shown a friendly attitude toward digital currencies, pledging to make the U.S. a hub for the cryptocurrency industry and establish a Bitcoin reserve. Following his victory, digital currencies surged in celebration, with Bitcoin even surpassing the $80,000 mark. Additionally, with the Republican Party likely to control both the House and Senate, the market expects this to favor Trump’s cryptocurrency-related policies, supporting digital currencies at high levels through the prevailing optimism.

This Week and Future Outlook

There is an approximate two-month transition period before Trump officially takes office, during which this optimistic sentiment may continue to support digital currencies. Additionally, if the Republicans secure control of both chambers of Congress, it could facilitate Trump’s efforts to roll back regulatory restrictions, potentially driving digital currencies higher. Therefore, short-term traders might consider following the trend and buying on dips.

Looking ahead, while Trump’s victory is beneficial for digital currencies, investors should also be mindful of the potential for short-term corrections due to recent sharp gains, and avoid chasing high prices recklessly. In the long term, expectations of further Fed rate cuts and a "soft landing" scenario are likely to maintain investor optimism, with rising risk appetite favoring a continued uptrend for digital currencies. Looser monetary policy is also expected to increase liquidity, providing further upward momentum for cryptocurrency prices. Thus, the long-term outlook remains positive.

Technical Analysis

Trading Strategy On the LTC 4-hour chart, the upward movement in highs and lows indicates a bullish trend. The latest upward swing's 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level at 74.05 is theoretically a support level, suitable for a long position. If the price breaks below the previous low at 71.54, it may signal a trend reversal, and the long position should be stopped out. The target price is set at the previous high of 78.12.
